\~.~// "a touch of mystery meets tango" Libertango originally written by Astor Piazolla, Remix by Stephan Pompougnac, Hotel Costes, with Graces Jones (Tango Electronico) ~~~ Astor Piazolla.... (b. March 11, 1921 - July 4, 1992) Maestro Piazolla was an Argentine tango composer and bandoneón player. He revolutionized the traditional tango into a new style termed "Nuevo Tango" incorporating elements from Jazz and Classical Music. Astor studied classical music, including 17th and 18th Century Baroque, and Fugue which influenced what is termed "passacaglia" technique of circulating bass line and harmonic sequence, as well as incorporating jazz changes, counterpoint, and improvisation throughout. From a young age, he was influenced by the renowned Carlos Gardel. It is estimated that Astor Piazolla wrote about 3,000 pieces, 500 of which were recorded... Libertango and Adiós Nonino (dedicated to his father) are two of his best known works. Brazilian guitarist, Sergio Assad, as well as renowned cellist, Yo Yo Ma, have recorded and performed Astor Piazolla's music. ~~~ Note, I do not own the music or related materials to this video, no copyright infringement is intended... it is made in appreciation of the music of Astor Piazolla and the beautiful dance of tango. ~~ Hope you enjoy!
